Africa with the In-Laws.

Although we are back in the US of A, I can’t pretend the last month didn’t happen. I will wrap-up/reflect on our time in Rwanda at a later moment.

Last update was the much anticipated arrival of Del and Diane. We enjoyed a few days together visiting the Genocide Memorial and Hotel Milles Colines, then parted ways. Diane and I stayed in Kigali for a week while the boys ventured to Tanzania to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro! We then joined the boys for a safari Tanzania. Here is a brief picture story covering our time!

THE WHOLE CREW: 1 Guide, 1 Assistant Guide, 3 Porters, and 1 Cook. They were pampered beyond belief.

Each morning they were woken with hot tea. Breakfast was waiting at the table. Evenings, they were met with freshly toasted peanuts and popcorn.KIGALI: While the boys were gone, Diane and I explored the city. We went to a few different Co-Ops (Bead making, quilting, and a bagel shop), taught my last english class, and anything else they crossed our path. We had a lot of fun.

TANZANIA SAFARI: With our guide Hubert, we visited three different game parks over four days. We had an amazing time, learned a lot, and saw even more!

Masai Tribe

Welcome dance.

Each night we stayed in a beautiful lodge. This is our little villa for the first and last night of our trip.During our travels back to the States, we had a long layover in Belgium. We decided to explore the city and get some chocolate!

We said goodbye to our dear friend Philberto with a dinner celebration! It was a sweet few weeks with Caleb’s parents. We are so thankful for our experiences with them. A debrief of our trip will be coming soon.

  1. Wow, Elli. What an experience. Beautiful pics. I see your sister Abby around campus sometimes. She looks well :0) Be encouraged and know that my prayers are with you and Caleb.
