After a fabulous week and a half in England, we have finally returned to our homeland.
We spent most of our waking moments with our friends Katie and Peter. We adore them, and they were gracious enough to spend all of that time with us. We are so grateful.
We travelled all over the country. First London. We hit all the sites– Notting Hill, Greenwich, Parliament, Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace, the London Eye, and so so much more.
Then we went south to Shoreham, near Kent, a small countryside village. We stayed with Katie’s parents and took long walks through farms and drank a yummy bear in ancient pubs.
We stopped in Oxford for a day, exploring the land of great minds.
Then, we headed up to Leeds, where Katie and Peter live. It is so special to see someone’s home. Where they do life. We went to church with them and met their Rwandan housemate.
For our anniversary (two years!), we took the train to a small village, Hebden Bridge. We watched the soccer game, England v. France, in the local pub, went for a nice walk through the village and woods, and roamed the sweet shops throughout.
It was an amazing trip. With only 6 weeks until medical school starts, we are thankful we have got to getaway and be with some great people.
